DIY Flower Lei Frame
Super simple DIY Flower Lei Frame!
Take all the flowers off of the string and place them in a pile.
Now, with the frame all set it is time to start gluing. I used a hot glue gun and I think that works the best. Layer the flowers by putting one on top of the other either in a certain order, or at random.
Work your way around the frame. Also, glue the underside of the petals to the frame that will keep all of the flowers secure.
Once you have finished adding the flowers all the way around the frame it should look like this.
Now time to add the dot to the middle of the last flower in the corner. I found an old earring that worked great, but anything you can find will work. I folded the back of the earring down to make it easier to attach to the flower.
Add a dab of hot glue, then place it in the center of the flower. Yay! You now have a beautiful flower frame ready for any picture!
Muumuu Tote Bag Tutorial
I love this tote, not only is it super cute, but it is really soft since it is made out of clothing!
I picked up this funky muumuu dress from a thrift store because I just love the fabric. I thought it would be awesome to make a tote bag out of it since the colors are awesome and the dress was cheap. Fabric from a fabric store can be quite pricey so I definitely recommend going to a couple thrift stores and finding some awesome dresses (or skirts) like this one and turn them into cool things.
This tutorial can be used for any kind of fabric since I have all of the measurements. Feel free to use any fabric it doesn't have to be an muumuu dress. You can tweak the instructions to fit your particular dress (like making it smaller or larger to fit your needs).
For all the measurements I gave them about 1/2 inch seam allowance.

My mom, sister, and I took a trip to Columbia, CA back in February. We had a great time being together, we also had a bit of a photo shoot too!

Grey Dress Refashion
I have been following a number of blogs for quite some time now. I really love all of the creative people out there in the blog world. I love doing crafts and making things and I think its about time to share some of my creations with the blogging world, and to actually join in the fun as opposed to just being a spectator.
I love going to thrift stores! You just never know what you are going to find. It's similar to a treasure hunt!
I found this really cute dress at a thrift store a while back, which was way too big, but with a sewing machine and a bit of time I knew I could make it into something super cute!
I refashioned this dress a few months ago. I hope you like it!
Here is what it started out as, way too big. |
I took the sleeves in, as well as on top of the shoulders. |
I also took in about 4 inches per side. |
Here it is almost finished! |
The dress was too short for my taste so I added about five inches of black fabric to the bottom.
Here's the before and after!
I really love the way it turned out!
